UR Recording House was opened in 1976 for the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine as a basic technical establishment for recording high quality music and literature pieces. These recordings are used in radio production.
Since the Recording House opening the radio fund got more than 110 thousand phonograms. Among the performers are such renowned names as Sviatislav Rikhter, Kostiantyn Symeonov, Natan Rakhlin, Dmytro Hnatiuk, Anatoliy Solovjanenko, Stepan Turchak, Ada Rohovtseva, Bohdan Stupka. This place also witnessed the first records of Sofia Rotaru, Vasyl Zinkevych, Nazariy Iaremchuk and many other famous performers.
At the moment the main users of the studios are the Ukrainian Radio music ensembles. These formations specialize in recording performances – the most complicated and most responsible kind of music art.
During the period of their artistic life the ensembles created the Golden Fund of Ukrainian Radio which contains dozen thousands of best music works of Ukrainian and world classics, modern authors and folk song genre. They contribute to the cultural heritage of Ukraine and are a powerful tool in building up the moral and national consciousness of our people.
The Recording House has unique recording studios with renowned acoustic facilities. These premises are equipped with modern digital technologies. UR Big Concert Studio is one of the largest in Europe.

Technical equipment allows recording of the wide range of academic music starting with soloists (instrumentalists, vocalists) and up to symphony orchestra with choir.
Small Concert Studio of the Recording House is aimed at making recordings of smaller ensembles – up to 35 performers, such as pop symphony orchestras, chamber choirs and chamber ensembles.

Technical equipment is appropriate for recording soloists-instrumentalists, chamber ensembles, choirs up to 35 participants, pop-symphony orchestras and jazz bands.
Studio for Recording Literary and Dramatic Pieces is designated for recording literature works, radio plays and separate soloists. Studio volume – 85 m³, square – 30m², reverberation time – 0.8 sec.
Recording House allows rental opportunities for other kinds of equipment.
