In the Kyiv region total area of smoldering peat has reduced to almost 50 hectares. More than 230 employees of the State Service of Emergencies and 60 units of special equipment are involved in fire extinguishing in 6 districts of the region.
The radiation level in the capital region is within the norms, experts say. And in the Poltava region over 160 hectares of peat continue to smolder. Fire extinguishing continues in three districts.
