Poroshenko will meet with President Sergio Mattarella and the Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi to discuss bilateral and international issues. Poroshenko also plans to meet with representatives of Ukrainian diaspora in Italy. During Poroshenko's visit to the Vatican, he will have an audience with Pope Francis and Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
