The Hutsul village of Yavoriv, which is situated in the Kosiv district in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, took second place in the competition dubbed "Incredible villages of the country- 2017".

"The II All-Ukrainian contest" Incredible villages of Ukraine in 2017 " finished. The Yavoriv village of Kosiv district won the second place by the results of counting the results of online voting and evaluation of the Expert Council," the press service reports. According to their information, the village of Chervone of Zhytomyr region became the leader of the competition. The third place went to the village of Lomačinci, which is in Bukovina.
The winners of the competition will receive cash rewards of UAH 75 thousand, UAH 30 thousand and 15 thousand UAH respectively. They will be presented in Kyiv on September 11 at the Ukrainian Village Day.
It should be noted that Yavorov is considered to be the center of Hutsul folk decorative and applied arts. Here the historical heritage, original national life, poetic and musical folklore, customs and traditions are preserved. The village has long been famous for its folk craftsmen. It the place where the founders of Hutsul flat carving on the Shkryllyaki tree and their followers Korpanyuky worked and lived.
