Kyiv ready to redeploy weapons to Donbas frontline in event of enemy offensive

"Our main task for today is to hold the line of defence. If the [separatists] mount an offensive, depending on what forces, means and weapons they may use, the [government] forces will be prepared to retaliate. The armaments we have withdrawn consistent with the Minsk agreements were pulled back in a manner allowing for their redeployment to the defence line within the shortest period and appropriate deterrence of the enemy," Motuzianyk said. Commanders of the units deployed along the contact line have the right to return fire depending on the situation, Motuzianyk said. "First of all, this happens in the event that the militants open precision fire on our positions and their fire hits targets. Secondly, if the place from where the hostile fire is coming is fully identified. And thirdly if there are no civilians in that place," the administration representative said.
