"The leading European capitals, including Berlin, London and Paris, have no desire to get Russia's support in Syria by abandoning Ukraine. There are specific assurances that the European Union is on course to expand the economic sanctions against Russia because of the crisis in Ukraine," reads the report. The EU plans to discuss the extension of sanctions against Russia in mid-December. The decision must be supported by all 28 EU member countries. It is also reported that the EU is considering three possible terms of extending sanctions against Russia: one year, six months or three to four months.
