"Ukraine is joining the EU's Creative Europe program. We were moving to the goal and did our best to do this. With the help of our European partners we've reached the result," said Viacheslav Kyrylenko, Deputy Premier and Minister of Culture of Ukraine, who signed the document on behalf of the Ukrainian government. Creative Europe is the European Commission's framework program for support of cultural and audiovisual sectors. Creative Europe's stated aims are to help the cultural and creative sectors seize the opportunities of the digital age and globalization and enable sectors to reach their economic potential, contributing to sustainable growth, jobs, and social cohesion. It also gives Europe's culture and media sectors access to new international opportunities, markets, and audiences. After the implementation of the agreement by the parliament, starting from 2016, Ukrainian artists and institutions will have access to schemes financed by the programme.
