“I have no doubts that until the EU Council meeting on December 17, the European Union will demonstrate unity, as well as regarding the issue on sanctions for non-implementation of the Minsk agreements,” Poroshenko said. According to the President, Ukraine has the only one request for the EU – to be strong and united. And despite the fact that Russia wants to see Europe weak and divided, the EU has strongly supported Ukraine for over 20 months. “When I’m asked what Ukraine is expecting from the European Union, my answer is very simple – the unity and solidarity. Only the strong European Union can resist those chalanges and threats existing in the modern world, regardless whether these are security threats connected with the annexation of Crimea and aggression against Ukraine, or these are terror attacks and refugee problems,” he said.
