Poroshenko: Ukraine achieves energy independence of Russia

"This year we prevented default, cleared out the banking system, restructured debts, and finally achieved energy independence of Russia," he said at a press conference after negotiations with Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite in Vilnius on Wednesday. He said that one year of the operation of the current government finished and many things were done. "We could say that we not only signed the Association Agreement, but we've started implementing it," the Ukrainian president said. Poroshenko said that the powerful Ukraine-friendly coalition in the world was created in the past year, the new Ukrainian armed forces were formed, the decentralization reform was launched and draft amendments to the Constitution regarding judicial reform were sent to the parliament. "Today we won't and cannot react to both energy and trade blackmail. Ukraine has become stronger," he said.
