Introduction of free trade zone with Ukraine and with Georgia and Moldova will be discussed on December 14 by the EU Council for Foreign Affairs.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is confident that Ukraine will manage to compensate the losses from the closure of the Russian market for Ukrainian producers in several years with the help of the deep and comprehensive free trade area (FTA) between Ukraine and the EU.
FTA with the EU will take effect from 1 January. Its introduction - part of the Association Agreement.
The Russian side threatens Ukraine with a full trade embargo. Losses which economy of our country may sustain in case the Kremlin takes this decision, are estimated at $ 600 million.
