"I am convinced that upon the adoption of the roadmap of defence and technological cooperation, which was signed during this visit, we will considerably enhance the format of assistance. In the near future, within the development of our agreements we are planning to sign several more documents, which seek to build up Ukraine's defence capability," Poroshenko said at a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels on Thursday. Ukraine's goal is to ensure the full mutual compatibility of its armed forces and the NATO armed forces before 2020, he said. Poroshenko also said that the Ukrainian delegation will attend a NATO summit in Warsaw. "We discussed our further steps of cooperation. About the NATO summit in Warsaw and I informed the NATO general secretary of the results of the talks with the Polish president and confirmed that the Ukrainian side is ready to participate in NATO events in 2016," he said.
