Ownership registration to be done by 7,000 private notaries - Petrenko

"Earlier, in order to register an apartment one had to wait at least 14 days until the registrar from the Ministry of Justice completes registration action or give a bribe. Now the Ministry of Justice is the first ministry that has abrogated these functions by eliminating its registration service. Effective from January 1, 2016 the concept of registrar from the Ministry of Justice will disappear altogether from the consciousness of every Ukrainian. We have transferred these powers to the local authorities, private notaries and licensed entities. Starting  from yesterday more than 7,000 private notaries joined the process of registration," said Petrenko. He noted this great army of those people who are willing to work honestly and do not take bribes.
