The European Commission last year provided humanitarian aid to Ukraine worth of 30 million euros.
This was announced by European Commissioner for humanitarian aid and crisis management Christos Stilianidis. According to him, about 55 percent of the total amount was transferred to support residents of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
Since the beginning of the conflict in eastern Ukraine, the European Commission has allocated about 63 million euros for humanitarian assistance and conduct of restoration works.
Earlier, the US said about increase of humanitarian assistance by nearly USD 15 million for people affected by the fighting in the Donbass. Thus, the total amount of aid will rise to USD 84 million.
