Ukraine opens market for Canadian meat imports

 “Ukraine has permitted beef and pork imports from any federally registered processing plant that meets current certification,” the press release reads. The Ukrainian side took a relevant decision following a successful inspection visit to Canada in September. It is also noted that “Canada is tending to strengthen economic relations with Ukraine and ensure wider access to its markets by Canadian exporters”. In addition, according to the Canadian Agriculture Ministry estimates access to the Ukrainian market for Canadian beef and pork to be worth up to $50 million annually.
