One Ukrainian soldier killed, 12 wounded in east Ukraine

Russia-backed militants have conducted 70 attacks on Ukrainian army positions using various types of weapons over the past day, the Ukrainian army operation press centre reported Friday morning. According to the staff, most breaches of the truce were near the villages surrounding Donetsk. Militants were using mortars, grenade launchers, machineguns, howitzers, and small arms. More attacks were reported near southeastern Ukrainian seaport Mariupol and in Luhansk region. The government forces opened retaliatory fire 19 times, exclusively using small-calibre weapons, the report said.
