"Due to a false letter they [Russian security services] attempted to organize an interview with The New York Times on behalf of President Petro Poroshenko]. They handled phone numbers and e-mails of their agents on paper with a false masthead, held talks and even gave 'answers' to questions by phone," reads the report. Tseholko said that the journalists of the US newspaper checked the authenticity of statements attributed to Poroshenko with the Ukrainian president's press service. As a result, he said, "the fake interviews weren't released."
