Erdogan addresses Crimean Tatars with words of support.

On the eve of commemorating the 72 th anniversary of Crimean tatars deportation that will be marked on May 18, Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the Russian occupation in 2014 caused the new oppression and suppression of the Crimean Tatars.

He said that Turkey does not recognize the annexation of Crimea and considers its priority to guarantee peace, security and prosperity of the Crimean Tatars. Ankara will continue to fight against oppression and violation of human rights of Tatars in Crimea, he said.
