President Poroshenko thanks G7 countries for extending sanctions against Russia

The Ukrainian president said this in a TV interview Sunday, May 29, Ukrinform reports. “As a result of our intensive consultations, my visit to Japan, where then a meeting of the G7 countries was being prepared, intensive talks with our partners in the Group of Seven, all this led to the following: this week the Group of Seven in Tokyo took a decision not just to extend sanctions against Russia, but to strengthen these sanctions against Russia in case of aggravation or when needed. As it is the only tool that provides fulfillment of obligations undertaken by Russia. And I am extremely grateful and I believe this is our victory,” Poroshenko said.
