Cooperation between Ukraine and IMF continues

The IMF Board of Directors will decide on a new tranche for Ukraine after the analysis of reforms and fulfillment of commitments made in June, IMF Resident Representative Jerome Vacher has said.He said the IMF will judge not only what has been promised, but what has been done to implement reforms.

"We'll look at the policy followed next month [in June]. This is what we will evaluate, this is the basis upon which the Board of Directors will make its final decision on whether to allocate the tranche," he told Ukrainian TV Channel Inter in an interview broadcast on June 5 evening. The work done by Ukraine to implement reforms will be assessed late in June, he said.

If the assessment is positive, Ukraine will be able to get the tranche in the middle of July, Vacher said in the interview. The IMF approved the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program for Ukraine totaling 17.5 billion dollars in March last year. Ukraine has already received two tranches - 5 and nearly two billion US dollars
