Ukrainian Justice Ministry sends request to Russia for Karpyuk’s return

"We are sending to Russia a request for transfer of Mykola Karpyuk [back to Ukraine]. We have  received an application filed by his brother, Valentyn Karpyuk," wrote Petukhov. Earlier, it was reported that on May 26 the Chechen Supreme Court sentenced Ukrainian citizens Mykola Karpyuk and Stanislav Klyukh for 22 years in jail after they had been found guilty of fighting alongside Chechen separatists against Russian troops in the 1990s.
