US Department of State: FBI assists Ukraine with investigation into murder of journalist Sheremet

"We are shocked and saddened by the killing of Ukrainska Pravda journalist Pavel Sheremet in a car bombing in Kyiv. We join the government of Ukraine in support of a full and impartial investigation that will bring those responsible to justice," Kirby said. He welcomed the statements by the police and Prosecutor General’s Office that the act would be fully investigated and the perpetrators brought to justice, and said that the FBI had begun to assist Ukrainian authorities with their investigation. The U.S. State Department also expressed condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the journalist.
