Price for travel in subway could rise

Next year Kyiv authorities intend to review the price of travel in the metro, chief economist of the Kyiv metro Maxym Demchenko said. He said the price increase is caused by the abolition of the Cabinet's permission to use electricity by the municipal transport companies at tariffs set for the public.

In February, CEO of the Kyiv metro Viktor Braginsky said that economically reasonable rate is 5 hryvnia 78 kopecks. Today, metro travel costs 4 hryvnia.
