Almost 70% of Ukrainian believe that the main language of teaching in schools should be Ukrainian, while in 1991 this idea was supported only by 51% of the population, said the executive director of the Kiev International Institute of Sociology Natalia Kharchenko. She noted that in 1990 it was the youth who often expressed their negative opinion concerning Ukrainization. "Today's young men and women perceive Ukrainian as the main language of teaching at school as quite normal which is quite natural," said the expert.
The survey was conducted in 110 localities in all regions of Ukraine, except temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas.
