This is stated in the decision of the committee about the draft legislation resolution on including Ukraine on the list of third countries whose nationals are exempt from visa requirements. “The Committee on Legal Affairs calls on the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs, which is responsible for [submitting proposals to abolish a visa regime for Ukraine], to offer the European Parliament to approve its position at first reading, based on the European Commission's proposal,” reads the document. It also notes a significant progress Ukraine has made in carrying out reforms, and stresses the need to continue moving in this direction, particularly, on the issue of the rule of law in the Ukrainian society.
