According to the website of the Ukrainian Sea Port Administration, the agreement was reached in Athens at the first technical meeting of experts for development of cooperation between Ukraine and Greece in the maritime sphere held on September 13 and 14. The sides agreed to mutually support each other at the level of marine organizations and European structures and exchange information. Greece agreed to assist Ukraine in reforming its marine sector, in particular, port infrastructure to meet the EU standards. After the meeting a joint protocol specifying directions of bilateral cooperation in the marine area (road map) was signed and plans made for the two sides to create a permanent commission for cooperation in the marine sector. The next meeting will be held in 2017 in Ukraine.
