Opening ceremony of Eurovision-2017 to take place on territory of St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv

This was informed by the the press service of the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine. This place is known abroad as one of places included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. In the Kiev city administration stressed that St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv now operates as a museum, not a church, so the event does not offend the feelings of believers. The opening ceremony will be shown on large monitors that will be set at the Sophia square.
