European Committee supports granting Ukraine visa-free regime

The abolition of visa restrictions was supported by 40 deputies, 4 were "against", abstentions - 1. Thus, almost all proposed amendments to the legislative resolution on bringing Ukraine to the list of countries for whose nationals visa requirements for short-term travel to EU countries are abolished, was rejected. Bulgarian MEP Mariya Gabriel after the adoption of her report called on the Council and the European Parliament to support the abolition of visas for Ukraine. The Committee also supported the opening of negotiations between the institutions on visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens.
