Militants launched 47 attacks on Ukrainian troops in past day

The separatists shelled positions of government troops using heavy machine guns, grenade launchers, mortars, and small arms. The militants launched 26 attacks on the Ukrainian troops in the vicinity of strategic government-controlled seaport Mariupol in the southeast. Eight attacks were reported near separatist-held Donetsk, while thirteen ceasefire violations were recorded in the Luhansk region, also controlled by the militants. One Ukrainian soldier was wounded in the hostilities over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian military spokesman Oleksandr Motuzianyk said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Thursday noon.
