As Volodymyr Molochko, a representative of the companies involved in the introduction of electronic accounting of wood told, this year the Ukrainian authority actually cancelled the order of marking pines and firs with special plastic chips, This will dramatically increase the number of trees in the black market. Two years ago, according to experts, chips system worked well, and only about twenty percent of the trees were realized on the black market, but in Ukraine it was decided to refuse from plastic chips and explain this by only one reason - such chips are very expensive and they become unprofitable.
Every year before the New Year Ukrainians buy about a hundred thousand firs and pines. The total cost of New Year trees is approaching USD 6 million.
