Modern researchers say that in 1970 - 1980 years of the last century it has played a key role in the national liberation struggle of the Ukrainian people and started its non-violent, legal and open struggle on the way to Ukraine's gaining independence, development of democracy and respect for human rights.
Events kicked off in Kyiv in honor of those who joined the national liberation struggle for human rights in times of Soviet totalitarianism.
