Poroshenko thanks EU for new sanctions due to elections in Crimea

"I welcome the European Council decision to introduce additional personal sanctions in connection with the illegal "parliamentary elections" in Crimea," reads a statement. The President also thanked the EU "for the preservation of policy of non-recognition of illegal annexation of Crimea and strengthening of sanction pressure on the Russian aggressor."
