During 2016 more than 68 thousand people were accepted to serve in the Ukrainian army by contract, among them - more than 8,000 officers. This was reported by representative of the Defense Ministry reforms committee Serhiy Kropyvchenko.
Among other things, this helped to release the reserve soldiers who were conscripted during the fourth, fifth and sixth waves of mobilization, the official said.
