Last year, our country reduced natural gas imports by almost 33 percent compared to 2015 year - up to almost 12 billion cubic meters. This is testified by the operational data of "Ukrtransgaz".
However, In December 2016 gas imports amounted to 1.659 billion cubic meters, which is 3.7 times more than in December last year (444 million cubic meters).
The most active purchasing of gas is done from Slovakia. Gas importers of our country are also Hungary and Poland. Ukraine has not been importing natural gas under the contract with Gazprom for 13 months , purchasing resources exclusively on its western border.
