Iryna Herashchenko stands for broadcasting of Ukrainian television in Russia

First Vice-Speaker Iryna Herashchenko criticized the OSCE and international journalists' organizations for their failure to support the idea of Ukrainian television broadcasting in Russia. She advised OSCE representative Dunja Mijatovic to pay more attention to the blocking of the Ukrainian TV channels in Russia and in the Donbas, instead of worrying about the fate of the Russian TV channel "Dozhd."

Because Russian TV channel "Dozhd"recognizes Crimea a part of Russia , the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine obliged Ukrainian providers to stop broadcasting of the Russian TV channel "Dozhd" in Ukraine. The Committee to protect Rights of Journalists, based in New York, and American non-governmental organization "Freedom House" stood aginst this decision.
