Kyiv hopes China plays active role in Donbas settlement

President Poroshenko said he expected China to promote the peace process in Donbas and the restoration of territorial integrity of Ukraine, 'including Crimea'. Xi voiced China's support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, the report said. At the meeting, Poroshenko and Xi agreed to hold a session of the Ukraine-China intergovernmental commission this year to intensify bilateral cooperation. The two sides also agreed to continue cooperation between the two countries to maintain peace and stability at both the regional and global levels, including in the framework of the UN Security Council.
