“Four years ago, only 16% of Ukrainians favoured Ukraine's entry into NATO. Now it's 54%. As president, I am guided by the views of my people, and I will hold a referendum on the issue of NATO membership. And I’ll do all I can to achieve membership in the transatlantic alliance, if the Ukrainian people vote in favour,” President Poroshenko said. As reported, NATO postponed a meeting with Kyiv regarding the alliance’s missile-defence system because of possible negative reaction from Russia.
