Militants launch 49 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

The separatists attacked the Ukrainian positions using mortars, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, and small arms. Most attacks are reported near the separatist-held city of Donetsk and the strategic government-controlled seaport Mariupol near the border with Russia. Separatists’ attacks also persist near Luhansk, also controlled by the militants. One Ukrainian soldier was killed and four were wounded in the hostilities over the past day, military spokesman Oleksandr Motuzianyk told a press briefing on Thursday.
