NSDC orders law enforcers to bring order at critical infrastructure facilities

This has been stipulated in the NSDC’s decision as of February 16, 2017, “On urgent measures to eliminate threats to Ukraine’s energy security and strengthen protection of critical infrastructure,” which was approved by the president’s decree, No.37/2017. “Having considered the situation in the energy sector of Ukraine, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has decided ... [to order] the National Police of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine to ensure safety and to legally make impossible the attempts to disrupt public order at facilities of the critical infrastructure," reads the document. According to the NSDC decision, the Interior Ministry and the SBU are “to take comprehensive measures” to ensure public order in the area of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
