Ukrainian remote-controlled APC Phantom recognized by Defence Blog - Poroshenko

Phantom was among the top five inventions at IDEX 2017 the International Defence Exhibition in the United Arab Emirates and its success shows the high level of interest in Ukrainian military equipment, according to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. "Among the top five exhibits from 50 countries present at IDEX-2017, Ukraine's Phantom made the top five. Military experts from Defence Blog called the unmanned remote-controlled vehicle the most interesting modern vehicle. Ukraine is the best," Poroshenko said on his Facebook page. The developers have integrated the anti-tank missile system Barrier into the Phantom. With such armament, the nearly invisible and mobile Phantom is capable of striking heavy and light armored targets at a distance of 100 to 5,000 meters. In addition, Phantom is equipped with a stabilized rotating platform for different types of armament. Fire tests of Phantom with the installed machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber show high efficiency. According to Ukroboronprom, the unmanned Phantom is the first step toward creating new weapons systems, which will replace those used today on the battlefield.
