Lawyer Dmitry Dinze said this in commentary to Krym.Realii website. "We will try to get some kind of more or less distinct final decision from the Supreme Court. Then we will appeal to the European Court of Human Rights," he said. At the last court hearing in Rostov-on-Don on August 19, the prosecutor demanded that Sentsov be sentenced to 23 years in the penal colony. Ukraine officially regards his prosecution in Russia as a Russian citizen as illegal, since Sentsov did not apply for the citizenship of the coutry that annexed his home region, Crimea, from Ukraine in 2014. The charges broguht against him are seen as politically motivated, and the case fabricated. International community, including world-famous film directors, have repeatedly called on the Russian leadership to release Oleg Sentsov.
