"We tried to make sure that Kyiv during the Eurovision Song Contest once again confirmed its status of the European capital, first of all, the European cultural capital. We allocated about UAH 18 million from the Kyiv city budget for arts and cultural events, invited the best representatives of the public sector to help us organize the work," she said. Starostenko also said that additional funds were allocated to train volunteers. According to her, the capital has recruited 250 volunteers to strengthen the volunteer team of the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine.
