The White House offers to refuse to provide free military aid to several countries, Ukraine among them, and instead intends to replace it with loans. It is reported by The Wall Street Journal.
It is noted that funds for military grants first are directed to the Bureau to support security of the US State Department, and then they are distributed among the allies of Washington. Total annual costs for the provision of free military aid are estimated at $ 6 billion.
The list of countries which may relate to this proposal, except Ukraine, may include Pakistan, Tunisia, Lebanon, Colombia, the Philippines and Vietnam.
We recall that in early May, President Donald Trump signed a draft budget, which includes directing USD 560 million to Ukraine.
