The separatists launched 52 attacks on the government troops in the past day, army operation press centre reported on Wednesday. Their attacks included the use of heavy arms that were to be withdrawn under the Minsk agreements on ceasefire. They shelled the Ukrainian forces using mortars, infantry weapons, grenade launchers, and small arms. Most attacks are reported near the strategic government-controlled seaport Mariupol near the border with Russia, and in the vicinity of separatist-held Donetsk. More attacks are reported around the militant-controlled Luhansk. One Ukrainian soldier was killed and seven were wounded in the hostilities in the past 24 hours, the report said.
