President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, expressed his special gratitude to Ukrainians who, in difficult circumstances, made significant progress on the path to the EU. He stated this before the start of the Ukraine-EU summit, which is continuing in Kyiv.
"Today I am in Kiev to congratulate the people of Ukraine. Despite all the dramatic circumstances and obstacles, despite the war in eastern Ukraine, Ukrainians have successfully received visa-free regime and fulfilled the requirements for the Association Agreement," the president of the European Council said.
Donald Tusk stressed that he welcomes the pro-European resolve and courage of Ukrainians to defend their independence.
