In the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the competition commision made decision who will be Director of the Ukrainian Book Institute. The next 5 years the Institute will be headed by journalist Tetyana Teren. This is reported by the Ministry's website.
Tetyana Teren believes that the team of the Institute of the Book should be a team of experienced and creative managers and curators. And the institution itself should become a pivotal platform for the constant communication of all market participants, to hold presentations, seminars, discussion clubs and meetings. In her opinion, the Institute, with the help of promotion and media resource, should actively promote Ukrainian libraries not as bookshops but as modern hubs. According to her, an important task of the institution is to find opportunities for the introduction of a grant program for the publication of the first book of young authors, the publication of scholarships for writers, the opening of residences for Ukrainian and foreign writers and translators.
