Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov is convinced of the need to introduce changes in Ukrainian legislature regarding the granting and deprivation of citizenship.He said this on Facebook.
"I am convinced that in the fall, with the commencement of the parliament's work, it is necessary to introduce amendments to Ukrainian legislation without delay - clearer, harder and unambiguously prescribing the procedures for granting and deprivation of citizenship, the unshakable rights of Ukrainian citizens - regardless of any will in Ukraine and abroad" - wrote Avakov. He recalled that Russia has announced a simplified procedure for obtaining citizenship for Ukrainians.
Previously, it was reported that the Russian State Duma adopted amendments to the law on citizenship, among which - simplified citizenship of the Russian Federation for Ukrainians.
