A third vessel with 75,000 tonnes of anthracite from South Africa for Prydniprovska and Kryvy Rih thermal power plants (TPPs) of DTEK Energo has arrived to the Yuzhny port, the press service of DTEK has reported.
"Imported coal shipped earlier created a required stock at our TPPs to operate in summer period. Thanks to this, population and enterprises are stably receiving electricity. Next vessel from South Africa would arrive in the middle of September, which will be the start of the active phase of accumulating coal for winter.
Under a contract DTEK has imported 225,000 tonnes of anthracite from South Africa to Ukraine. The first vessel with 75,000 tonnes of anthracite arrived to Ukraine on May 25, and the second on July 23. The company contracted a total of 675,000 tonnes of coal in South Africa.
