As our correspondent Lyudmila Kuzmenko said learned,Lomakine, Talakivka, Hnutove are towns near Mariupol and settlement Myrne in Volnovakha district that are now in the zone of consideration of non-profit, non-governmental organization The HALO Trust. At the first stage, humanitarian mission participants attend settlements and collect information about mines awareness, the possible presence of shells that did not explode.
After a report on the technical inspection of hazardous areas and coordination with relevant agencies permission to mines-defined areas, using mine detecting devices the specialists of the organization will search for explosive devices in the area.
Project Assistant The Halo Trust in Ukraine Lantukh Maryna says that thereare nearly 130 searchers - they are locals, Ukrainians, who were hired by the organization. They went through training and got the qualification of sappers. They are not necessarily military, - people who were military or participated in anti-terrorist operations, but it is just ordinary guys who were trained for this case.
As explained by Marina Lantukh, The HALO Trust - a UK charity that deals with clearance of landmines and munitions in 19 countries since 1988. But in Ukraine, its participants have no possibility to blow up the found ammunition, because the organization does not have a special license for such activities.
