Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin states that Ukraine could not contribute to the development of the Korean People's Democratic Republic's missile program.
This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian foreign ministry in the author's column in "The New York Times" in response to the material of this edition of August 14 on the possible supply by Ukraine of rocket technology to the DPRK.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stressed that Ukraine is not related to North Korea's missile program. He added that the production capacity for the construction of this type of missile in Ukraine was decommissioned in 1992. Klimkin excludes the possibility that some scholars could resort to fraud and transfer technology to the DPRK.
Recall that on August 14, the New York Times posted a statement stating that North Korea's success in testing the intercontinental ballistic missile, which is likely to reach the United States, was made possible by the acquisition of powerful rocket engines on the "black market", most likely, from the Ukrainian company.
In response to this publication, NSDC secretary Olexandr Turchynov said that the Ukrainian defense industry did not supply rocket engines and rocket technology to the North Korean regime.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed Turchynov together with the competent authorities to investigate information disseminated by The New York Times.
