The official mentioned this at a meeting with Hennadiy Zubko, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development. According to Zubko, Ukraine offered to set up 40 sub-regional groups to support reforms. "These groups will provide technical assistance through trainings of local authorities at all levels. In addition, the teams will also perform training of the newly elected MPs and civil servants regarding their new managing responsibilities," Zubko said. He added that Kyiv strongly relies on the expert assistance of its European partners in the process of amending the Constitution of Ukraine. “For us it is crucial to develop of a package of laws on decentralization in 22 areas of the country, especially the basic laws on self-government, administrative and territorial structure, tax and budget relations, social standards and local police," Zubko said.
